MAP testing is here!
Beginning May 1st, fifth grade will be participating in MAP testing. Testing sessions will either occur first thing in the morning or right after lunch. Please make sure your child has a good night's sleep and a breakfast and lunch with protein for brain power! In order for testing to begin in a timely manner, it will be very important that your child arrive to school on time. Thanks for doing your part to help your child be successful!
Students will create a power point about an assigned state. It needs to be creative, neatly done, colorful, informational, and written in their own words. A printed copy of the presentation is required to be turned in. This project will be completed primarily at home. The final State Project is due Monday, May 8th.
Race to Read - Start your engines!
It is time for "Race to Read," a yearly reading challenge at Lincoln Academy! The program will run through May 12. You are urged to encourage your child to read at home, then color one of the numbered spots for every 30 minutes of reading minutes completed (16 spaces per sheet). When a Take Home Reading Sheet is complete, have your student return it to school so they can receive their prizes. Sheets 1 and 2 are included in today's Monday Folder. Additional reading sheets can be found on our website (This Week in 5th Grade, Language Arts Files). For the duration of this program, no Reading Logs will be required. Completed sheets must have a parent signature.
When your student is typing an assignment for class, please set up the page using the following format. This format is required.
