  • MAP testing is here!

    Beginning May 1st, fifth grade will be participating in MAP testing. Testing sessions will either occur first thing in the morning or right after lunch. Please make sure your child has a good night's sleep and a breakfast and lunch with protein for brain power! In order for testing to begin in a timely manner, it will be very important that your child arrive to school on time. Thanks for doing your part to help your child be successful!

  • Field Day is Coming - May 19th! Field Day Group Leaders are Needed!
    At this time we are in need of volunteers for field day group leader.  Next week a full volunteer spot ( will be shared with families to volunteer for any position on field day.  However, we are looking to first fill these available spots this week, by Friday, April 21st.  Group leaders need to be able to follow a printed schedule and concentrate on supervising 10 students for several hours.  Group leaders are what make field day work so please consider helping if possible.  Need more information to know if you can volunteer?  See below...
    K-2 Field Day = 8:30-11:45  (Group leaders will need to report by 8am and should be available until 12pm)
    3-5 Field Day = 12-2:45 (Group leaders will need to report by 11:30am and should be available until 3pm)
    Please use the link below to sign up for one of the 7 available spots per grade.  Please make sure to put volunteer's first and last namefollowed by the student you are there for. This is a live google document so please do not modify anyone else's information.

    Students will create a power point about an assigned state.  It needs to be creative, neatly done, colorful, informational, and written in their own words.  A printed copy of the presentation is required to be turned in.  This project will be completed primarily at home.  The final State Project is due Monday, May 8th.

  • Race to Read - Start your engines!

    It is time for "Race to Read," a yearly reading challenge at Lincoln Academy! The program will run through May 12. You are urged to encourage your child to read at home, then color one of the numbered spots for every 30 minutes of reading minutes completed (16 spaces per sheet). When a Take Home Reading Sheet is complete, have your student return it to school so they can receive their prizes. Sheets 1 and 2 are included in today's Monday Folder. Additional reading sheets can be found on our website (This Week in 5th Grade, Language Arts Files). For the duration of this program, no Reading Logs will be required. Completed sheets must have a parent signature.

  • Typed Assignments

    When your student is typing an assignment for class, please set up the page using the following format. This format is required

    • Times New Roman
    • 12 pt. or 14 pt. font
    • Double space
    • Left justified

    All emails to your teacher MUST include:

  • How to Help Your Child at Home


    • Be sure math books are covered with a large book sock.
    • Sign Reading Log and return Tuesday.
    • Help your child study for the Spelling test on Tuesday night.
    • Be sure your child has a filled water bottle and nutritious snack everyday.
