Christy Goodman (Art K-3) graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL in
1998 with a degree in Fine Arts. After 5 years teaching in private
schools in St. Louis, Christy moved to Colorado to complete a Master's
Degree in Education from Regis University in 2008. The 2016-2017 school
year will be Christy's 11th year at Lincoln Academy. In her free time,
Christy enjoys painting, drawing, illustration & baking fancy
Lizzy Horn (Art 5-6 and Music K-1)
is an alumna of Lincoln Academy who graduated from
the University of the Cumberlands in May of 2014. She student taught in
a small city school in the Kentucky Appalachian Mountains, and was
lucky enough to teach art to kids from 1st to 12th grade. Lizzy now
lives in Colorado and spent her first year out of school substitute
teaching for all ages and subjects around Jeffco. The 2016-2017 school
year will be her second year teaching art and music. Lizzy is also a
retired college swimmer, a swim coach, an avid reader, and enjoys any
kind of new at techniques she can get her hands on.
Chris Martin (Physical Education K-2) is extremely excited to begin his 2nd year as physical education
teacher at Lincoln Academy Charter School. Mr. Martin received his
bachelor’s degree and teacher licensure from Metropolitan State College of
Denver. His degree is in K-12 physical education. Mr. Martin is also
the athletic director at Lincoln Academy. In his free time Mr. Martin loves to
spend time with his daughters Alexandria, who is 9, and Taylor, who is 7. Mr.
Martin resides in Erie.
Kim McKinney (Library) is happy to be returning for her 13th year in the library. She was a parent at Lincoln
for 12 years. Previously in Jefferson County she taught Elementary
School, Reading and was a substitute. Kim is the mother to two boys,
one is at CSU and another is in High School. She is also the "mother"
to Blue the dog and Dewey and Penelope the cats. Kim is married to
Jeff. In her free time she enjoys reading, walking, the mountains and
hanging out with her family.
Debbie McNutt (Elementary Technology) received her
bachelor’s degree in Business Computer Systems from New Mexico State
University in 1987 and worked for IBM Corporation for 11 years. She
received her Masters in Secondary Education at the University of Denver
in 1997. Mrs. McNutt came to Lincoln with 4 years of experience
teaching high school in the Thornton area teaching digital media and
math. The 2016-17 school year will be Mrs. McNutt’s seventh year at Lincoln Academy and she
is excited to continue her focus on elementary keyboarding and
technology skills. Mrs. McNutt loves to spend her free time with her
husband and three children, as well as running, scrapbooking, and
Enoch Miller (Physical Education 3-5) is extremely
excited to begin his 9th year as physical education teacher at Lincoln
Academy Charter School. Mr. Miller received his bachelor’s degree and
teacher licensure from Metropolitan State College of Denver. His degree
is in K-12 physical education with a concentration in coaching. He
holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the
University of Phoenix. Mr. Miller is also the head varsity boys’
basketball coach at Frederick High School. In his free time Mr. Miller
loves to coach basketball, and spend time with his family. Enoch,
his wife Brittany, and daughters Savannah and Chloe, reside in the Frederick area.
Imogene Salva grew up between
Poland and New York City. She received
her Bachelor’s Degree in French from the University of Paris, France, and a
Masters of Arts in Linguistics at The University of New York City (Queens
College). Growing up in such ethnically and culturally rich environments has
enriched her teaching experience. She is a mother to Krystian and Carolina
Salva, and a grandmother. Family is where we find our identity, safety,
security, companionship, care…. All this and much more is what we want you to
find at Lincoln Academy Elementary and Middle School and specifically in
Spanish class. Her hobbies include reading, writing traveling and missionary
charities. Her book “The Good Maharaja” about her mother’s life as an exile and
escape to freedom will be published by TPRS Publishing this summer.
Karen Ullman (Music 2-5) is beginning her 13th year of teaching here at Lincoln Academy. Mrs. Ullman studied music at the University of Northern Colorado and earned her teaching certificate at Metropolitan State College in Denver.
In addition, she has taught piano privately for 20 years. Mrs. Ullman
has had a lifelong love of music, particularly jazz and improvisation.
In addition to playing piano, she sings, plays flute, clarinet, guitar,
and is currently studying violin. She is married and has three boys,
age 21, 19 and 17. On the rare occasion that she has spare time, she
enjoys hanging out with the family, watching baseball, doing needlework,
gardening and skiing.
