  1. BOARD ELECTION: The newest member of the Board will be announced on Monday.
  2. VALENTINE’S PARENTS NIGHT OUT: Beat the crowds, go out for Valentines a day early and let us watch your children. If a quiet evening at home is more your style, that’s what we are here for! Sign up now for the next exciting Parents Night Out event on Saturday, February 13 from 5-10 p.m. Children three years old through fifth grade are invited to join us for an exciting evening of games in the gym, special holiday crafts, movies, and food. Dinner and snacks are provided for just $5 per child, plus a donation for the childcare services and activities. Childcare is provided by Red Cross certified high school students and their families. How much easier can a great night out be? Reserve your spot now by emailing or calling Laurie Rozendaal at scolau@aol.com or 303-429-5031.
  3. SAVE THE DATES FOR NEXT YEAR: As you are making summer plans, please keep the following dates in mind: Tuesday, August 3 is registration from 2-6 p.m. and Thursday, August 19 is the first day of school. These are the only dates we have available at this time.
  4. CHARTER RENEWAL: Please see the letter below from the district regarding our renewal.
  5. JEAN DRIVE FUNDRAISER FOR HAITI: To support the many efforts in Haiti, Lincoln Academy will be collecting gently used or new jeans for needy children, teens, and adults in Haiti. Aeropostale will match each pair of used/new jeans with a new pair. They will be distributed through a YMCA in Haiti. Jeans may be brought to the school February 1-5. In addition, there will be a hat day on Wednesday, February 3. Students may wear hats if they bring $1.00. The money will go to Samaritan’s Purse for Haitian victims. We thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Topic: Lincoln Academy

I have reviewed the documents provided by Lincoln Academy. The school did not have an external audit team visit the school. The school has provided documentation of their progress using documents and data from within our system. I have visited the school and have found a well organized, well functioning educational program.

Financial Requirements — The school has maintained positive cash balances and is considered to be financially stable. The school maintains a sizeable cash balance. Kathleen Askelson and I have reviewed the budget and have not found any areas of concern. Enrollment continues to be solid and the school has managed its funds well.
