Dear Parents and Students, I am so excited to be a part of the 3rd grade team at Lincoln Academy! It is going to be an exciting year of building our classroom community and continuing to grow as learners. I love learning about all of my students and connecting with them in meaningful ways so that each student knows that they are an important part of our class and our culture. I also love letting my students know about me so that they can form those connections as well. So, on that note, let me tell you a bit about myself. I live in Arvada with my husband, Renick, our 5 year old son, Charlie, and our two dogs, Stitch and Ollie, one goldish named Toto, and a snail named Lobo. We love animals and I wish we had a farm! I moved to Colorado in 2002 from Texas and I try to get back there at least once a year to visit family and get my lake fix. We are big Rockies fans so expect to hear all about them during baseball season! My hobbies are singing, playing doubles beach volleyball, running, reading, and trying new things. The goal for our 4th grade classroom is not only to push ourselves academically, but to flourish as good citizens in our class, our school, and our community. I strongly believe that every person (young and not so young) holds so much potential when they truly love to learn. I am a life-long learner and I am always amazed at how we can continue to grow through new experiences and taking the time to stop and strive to understand the wonders that are out there. I am relational by nature and I love getting to know each of my students and connecting with them through their passions and sometimes even discovering their passions throughout the school year. Curiosity is one of my favorite attributes in a person! I can’t wait to get the year started with all of you!

Sincerely, Anna Christopherson

I have been teaching for over 25 years and this will be my 17th year at Lincoln! I have taught in public schools, private schools, and I even home-schooled my own son for one year.  I have a Master’s degree in Education and also years of specialized training in reading and learning problems.  I have two children of my own, so I teach from my experiences of being a mom as well as being a teacher.  I believe in teaching from a very positive perspective and work to create a classroom environment that is both nurturing and stimulating.

Our adventures in third grade will take us many exciting places.  We will be learning about Canada, Ancient Rome, the Spanish Exploration, the Vikings, the Human Body, Astronomy, and Ecology!  These are just a sampling of the many subjects we will be covering this year.  I’m looking forward to meeting you and your child as we embark on an exciting journey through 3rd grade at Lincoln!  My goal is at the end of the year, all children will feel successful and valuable, and....that we will feel like family!

Welcome to third grade!  I hope your family had an adventurous and restful summer.  I am so excited to start this school year with all of you, and I look forward to an awesome year together!  Let me tell you a little about myself.  I am originally from California, and although the beach is my favorite place to be, I am so enjoying exploring the mountains and adventuring through Colorado!  I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a license in Elementary Education.  In my free time I love photography, to play and watch sports, read, snowboard, be near water, live an active lifestyle, and most of all travel the world! I have lived and taught on 4 different continents, visited 10 countries, and been to more than 18 states!  I have also enjoyed coaching multiple sports for youth locally and abroad.  My passion is teaching!  I believe that every child can learn and have seen on a global scale how fundamental a solid education is. I am motivated and determined to create a safe, fun, and respectful environment where your child can thrive!  I am excited to start this year together in third grade!  I strongly believe in parents, teachers, and students working together as a team to provide the best education possible for students.  I look forward to doing just that this coming year.  Please feel free to contact me anytime for any purpose, and let’s have a wonderful year!

Sincerely, Kayli Cooper
