Mrs. Katherine Brassington

I am very excited about this school year and getting to know each 6th-grade student!

I am a Colorado native. For most of my elementary years, I lived in Arvada, Colorado. I attended Peck Elementary and Arvada Senior High School. I received my Associate's degree in Elementary Education from RRCC, then graduated from Metro State University in 2014 majoring in Behavioral Science with a minor in Elementary Education. I previously taught 4th and 5th grade in Commerce City and substitute taught K-12th in Bailey.

I enjoy spending time outside, fishing, hiking, gardening or camping with my daughter and husband. When not outside I can be found snuggled in a blanket, reading a book with a giant cup of coffee.

In my classroom, it is essential that it feels like a community where every student feels accepted, respected, understood, and appreciated. I believe this environment is where children learn best. I hold students to high standards, but I will also make sure to have proper supports in place for them to obtain them.

Mrs. Asami Nash

I am very excited to join the wonderful Lincoln Academy teaching staff to teach math to your students this year! I love how supportive and kind the community at Lincoln is and I am excited to teach math here!  What a win-win situation I got!

I was born and grew up in Japan. I moved to the United States to go to college.  I graduated from Western Wyoming Community College with AA and AS in 1999,  and from University of Utah with BS in Secondary Math Education Major and Psychology minor in 2002.  I taught in Wymoning for 4 years till I had my son.  Since my son started Lincoln Academy as a first grader, I have been volunteering in classrooms and I fell in love with Lincoln Academy.  I have also been teaching Japanese language as a heritage language for last 7 years on Saturdays.

I love doing puzzles, sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking, and gardening (but I do not like bugs). I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, such as camping and visiting new places.  One of these days I would love to go to Australia to hug a koala!
