Howdy! This year, our fourth grade class will be presenting the “Colorado Show!”
Students are encouraged to wear a simple costume for the event. They may dress as a pioneer, miner, cowboy or cowgirl, Colorado professional sports player, skier, snowboarder, Native American or Spaniard. Hopefully, these costumes can be put together with items that you already have at home.
Please have your child to his or her classroom no later than 6:15 on the night of the program. As always, please feel free to contact me, Karen Ullman, Music Teacher, at email@example.com, or (303)467-5363, ext. 7277.
Mrs. Karen Ullman received her degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1987, and her teaching certificate from Metro State University in 2004. She has been teaching music at Lincoln Academy for 16 years, and all three of her boys attended Lincoln Academy from Kindergarten through 6th grade. She is currently teaching general music, grades K - 4, and Instrumentals for grades 5 - 8.
Karen has been married to her husband, Doug, for 30 years. As well as three boys (grown men, now!), they have two Golden Retrievers, and a cat. Karen enjoys watching baseball with her husband, hiking, gardening, and of course making music! Her primary instrument is the piano, but she also plays flute, clarinet, violin and guitar.
Music ProgramsAll grade-level programs start at 6:30 pm in the Lincoln Academy Gym.
The Lincoln Academy Band and Strings Clubs will resume in September, 2018!
Strings Club begins Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018
Band Club begins Monday, Sept. 10, 2018
These clubs are open to Lincoln Academy students in 4th through middle school. No experience necessary! To join, simply email Mrs. Ullman at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask her to put your child's name on the list!
Band Club will be held on Mondays from 3:00 to 3:45 in the music room. Strings Club will be on Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00, also in the music room. Students need to bring their own instruments. If they do not have one, one may be rented or purchased from Music & Arts at 88th and Wadsworth in Westminster. A book will need to be purchased as well. Band students will need "Standards of Excellence" Book 1 for their particular instrument, and strings students will need "Essential Elements" Book 1 for their instrument.
Instruments that are taught in Band Club are: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and snare drum.
Instruments that are taught in Strings Club are: violin, viola and cello.
Please note that neither one of these clubs are for guitar players!
