MA Mathenatics Education

Mr. Chapman

Hello! My name is Peter Chapman. I've been lucky enough to teach Math here at Lincoln for 5 years and I'm looking forward to another great year!
I've been teaching Math for 24 years and have taught everything from Middle School to adult education at Front Range Community College. I've taught levels from 7th grade math though Calculus and love teaching Math! I can't think of anything I'd rather do.

My wife and I have been married for 28 years this year. Together we've loved building a life together and raising our 25-year-old daughter (currently working toward a law degree). I've lived in Colorado since 1992 but was born in Northfield, Minnesota and mostly raised in Mesa, Arizona. I am one of 8 children spread across the country.

When we can, my wife and I enjoy traveling. This past summer we took a 24-day road trip to Maine. We love to camp, fish, hike, and enjoy the outdoors.

My philosophy as a math teacher is that students get more out when they put more in. I can be heard every day asking my students to "screw it up". It is in mistakes and correcting our mistakes that learning occurs. I work to build a safe place for students to make their mistakes and develop strong understandings out of correcting those mistakes.

Thank you for letting me be part of the Lincoln community!
