Welcome to a new school year at Lincoln Academy! I hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are ready for an exciting year. This is my sixth year at Lincoln Academy, and I couldn’t be more excited! I went to college at the University of Colorado at Boulder with an Elementary Licensure and Psychology degree. I recently graduated in December from the University of Northern Colorado with a masters degree in educational psychology. Throughout my years of teaching I’ve learned the importance of valuing each student as an individual and the necessary tools students need to succeed. I am very passionate about community building in the classroom and creating a positive classroom environment.

It is my mission to instill a love of learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for my subjects so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. I firmly believe that all students can learn, and this comes from creating an environment that fosters many different learning styles and builds positive relationships between students. I know that teaching must begin by creating a learning community where all students feel comfortable.

It is so important to keep communication open between us, and I encourage you to reach out via email, over the phone or in person at any time.

I have been teaching for over 25 years and this will be my 16th year at Lincoln! I have taught in public schools, private schools, and I even home-schooled my own son for one year.  I have a Master’s degree in Education and also years of specialized training in reading and learning problems.  I have two children of my own, so I teach from my experiences of being a mom as well as being a teacher.  I believe in teaching from a very positive perspective and work to create a classroom environment that is both nurturing and stimulating.

Our adventures in third grade will take us many exciting places.  We will be learning about Canada, Ancient Rome, the Spanish Exploration, the Vikings, the Human Body, Astronomy, and Ecology!  These are just a sampling of the many subjects we will be covering this year.  I’m looking forward to meeting you and your child as we embark on an exciting journey through 3rd grade at Lincoln!  My goal is at the end of the year, all children will feel successful and valuable, and....that we will feel like family!

Welcome to Third grade! I hope you had a relaxing summer and are ready for an exciting year in our classroom.

This is my first year teaching at Lincoln Academy. I am a Colorado native who loves all things outdoors. I believe that students need to feel safe and accepted to truly thrive at school. I look forward to creating a community in our classroom that makes everyone feel safe and excited to learn.

Third grade is an important year for your students. They will learn to better writers, practice literacy skills to help improve their reading, and improve on foundational math concepts. I have a passion for helping students learn to love learning and to challenge themselves. We will be going to many exciting places in third grade. We will be learning about Canada, Ancient Rome, the Spanish Exploration, the Vikings, the Human Body, Astronomy, and Ecology! These are just a sampling of the many subjects we will be covering this year.

I look forward to working with you and your student this year. Please feel free to reach out in email, over the phone, and in person as we go on this adventure together.

Welcome to all the Remote Learning Families! I'm so excited to join the Lincoln Academy staff this year.  I am a lifelong learner, and I am deeply committed to helping others learn as well, especially students!

With our ever evolving remote learning environment, I want parents and students to know that I am here to support them in whatever way possible.  I encourage you to reach out to me via email at any time.  My hope is that our Remote Learners can come together and create a real community that will help them all to learn as much as possible!
