Mission and Vision
The Mission of Lincoln Academy is to help students attain their highest potential through an academically rigorous, content-rich education in a safe, orderly, and caring environment.
The vision of Lincoln Academy is to prepare all students for their future endeavors by providing a comprehensive Core Knowledge Education.
History & Overview
Lincoln Academy, a PreK-8th grade Jefferson County Public School, began in 1997. We instruct more than 800 students in whole-group instruction classrooms. Our goal is to provide excellence using the Core Knowledge curriculum. Our Art, Music, Technology and P.E. classes integrate the Core Knowledge curriculum to support the grade-level classroom.
In addition to academics, we aim to educate students in our Core Values of leadership, acts of kindness, preparedness, respect, integrity, determination, and excellence. We use Love and Logic for discipline when necessary.
Lincoln Academy is a choice enrollment school. We are proud that Lincoln families are involved with and passionate about their children's education. We have a Parent-Teacher Organization and parent-run school board providing governance to the school. Families are encouraged to volunteer at least 20 hours of their time each school year, with many families choosing to give several more hours. Frequent interaction between parents and staff forms a close-knit team that provides an outstanding education in a caring environment.
