Our Leadership
Principal- Paul Hurst
I am thrilled to serve as the Principal of Lincoln Academy, a role that allows me to work alongside a dedicated community focused on delivering the best education possible to every student. Originally from South Carolina and raised in Ohio, I’ve called Colorado home for nearly 15 years, which has broadened my sports loyalties and deepened my appreciation for the state’s natural beauty.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Clearwater Christian College. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in both public and charter schools as a tutor, soccer and basketball coach, and classroom teacher. My journey in educational leadership began in 2014 when I served as a Behavioral/Instructional Coach, providing crucial support to students and staff. I later became the Vice Principal for grades K-3, a role where I was fortunate to support staff and contribute to various school functions.
In 2022, I joined Lincoln Academy as Principal, a decision that has been both rewarding and inspiring. My wife, who is an instructional coach at the district level in Weld County, and I are proud parents of two daughters, Ellorie and Claire, who are also part of the Lincoln Academy family. We live in Brighton, where we enjoy the outdoors through running, hiking, camping, and fishing—activities that help us appreciate the beauty of Colorado’s mountains.
I am deeply committed to the vision of Lincoln Academy and believe in the unlimited potential of our students and staff. Together, we are on an incredible journey, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
Assistant Principal- Mrs. Brozovich
Hello! My name is Jen Brozovich and I am happy to have joined the Leopards as one of your Assistant Principals. I am honored to join the Lincoln Academy family as I feel right at home - I attended the neighboring schools, Campbell, Oberon and graduated from Arvada West High School. From there, I was fortunate to earn a softball scholarship to the University of Evansville, Indiana. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education with a minor in math, went to Regis University for a Masters of Art in Education, completed the College of Education National Principal Academy Fellowship, and received a certificate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver.
My desire to be an educator started in kindergarten. My teacher was nurturing, passionate, confident, patient, kind-hearted, knowledgeable, supportive, and propelled her students to achievement. To this day, I strive to exemplify these qualities and believe that teachers wield the power to inspire all students to flourish.
For over 20 years, I encouraged and motivated middle schoolers as a math and STEM teacher and then as an instructional coach. Over the last few years, I have been fortunate to be at the elementary level as an instructional coach and dean of students. I have learned a tremendous amount from listening to students’ experiences and their current accomplishments. Not surprising, at the root of every story was a team of teachers who provided ceaseless amounts of support and skills to succeed. I am excited to see this type of collaboration in action and energized to learn from the Lincoln Academy staff through conversations, observations, and data driven instructional meetings.
Assistant Principal- Mrs. Frick
My name is Heather Frick, and I am excited to join Lincoln Academy as an Assistant Principal for the 2024-25 school year.
I am a Colorado native, and grew up in the Arvada area. I have been in education for the past 18 years, holding various roles in both general and special education across all K-12 grade levels. I currently hold a Masters degree in Special Education and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I started my educational career in online education as a Social Studies teacher, later transitioning into a Special Education position as a Student Services Coordinator. Upon entering Jeffco, I served as a Significant Support Needs teacher before assuming the role of a Learning Specialist.
On a personal note, I'm a proud mother of two sons who share a passion for basketball and lacrosse, keeping our weekends occupied on the sports fields. My husband and I celebrate 17 years of marriage, and our family recently welcomed a Shepard puppy named Tucker into our lives. We're avid travelers, striving to explore as many states as possible.
Professionally, I firmly believe in the potential of every student to excel and thrive academically. I advocate passionately for fostering an inclusive school environment where every student feels valued. My commitment extends to nurturing the holistic development of each child, supporting their academic growth as well as their mental well-being. I am eager to contribute to the success of both teachers and students at Lincoln Academy in the upcoming school year.
Operations Director- Mrs. Woods
Hello! My name is Lori Woods and I serve Lincoln Academy as the Operations Director. With an aerospace engineering degree from CU Boulder (Sko Buffs!), I began my career at Lockheed Martin supporting the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and later, both the F-16 and the F-35 airframe teams. Through this work, I developed a strong background in design, project integration and management, while growing a keen understanding of effective team leadership.
As a parent at Lincoln, I quickly fell in love with the amazing teaching teams who were greatly impacting my sons’ lives. In hopes of supporting them, I became progressively more involved in volunteer activities varying from leading reading groups, providing math and science tutoring, to PTO leadership as well as joining the Board of Directors as Facilities Chair and VP. As Operations Director, I continue to manage various school construction projects and oversee the operational side of the school in the areas of city and district relations, budgeting and finance, HR, technology and facilities.
I have a heart and passion for the community of Lincoln and hope to support the continued improvement of staff and student culture by “running the business” of the school so others can remain hyper-focused on student achievement, emotional support and engagement.
My husband and I have two Lincoln graduates as well as a middle schooler who have all been so well supported by the loving and committed staff of Lincoln. I truly believe we have a loyal team deeply invested in student success. Outside of school, our lives are chalked full of competitive sports, dog walks and backyard BBQs. It is my great honor to serve the Lincoln community and to be the mom of 3 crazy boys and their pups!
