Nov Meeting Highlights

The Board of Directors would like to share some highlights from the November meeting:

  1. Staff Presentation: November’s meeting began with an insightful presentation from several members of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT). They shared an overview of work introduced during October’s staff professional development day, highlighting the staff's work in understanding six phases of learning and then applying fourteen high-impact strategies that support each phase. Rooted in well-established research and effective practice, the presentation helped explain why certain techniques are most effective and how they can be integrated into classroom practice. Some of these tools are already being used in classrooms and, over time, will become even more prevalent and refined. We look forward to hearing more as this work progresses. Thanks to the entire ILT for this hard work! Click here to listen to the presentation near the start of the meeting recording.

  2. Finance: The Board approved the mid-year budget and reviewed the annual audit report. The audit, completed by an independent third-party auditor, is a standing district and state requirement of all charter schools and once again, provided positive feedback with no areas of concern.

  3. School Accountability Committee (SAC): The SAC planned to use their Dec 2nd meeting to begin discussions around the annual family survey, which is slated to be released in early 2026. If you would like to join these meetings, they occur on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the library unless otherwise noted on the committee page where you can also learn more about SAC.

  4. Prospective Parent Night: Lincoln hosted the annual prospective parent night in November. Over 100 parents attended to hear a well-thought-out presentation from leadership, speak with teachers, and tour classrooms. Huge thanks to our front-office for the extensive marketing efforts and to all staff members who participated and helped with this special evening.

  5. Staff Highlights: Our thanks go out to Brynn Wennen, Jessie Newsom, Jenna McMains, and Carrye Krueger who were recognized for their many contributions to Lincoln! For more details, please see the Executive Director’s Report here.
