She has two children, one attending Lincoln Academy, entering the 5th grade and another starting his freshman year at Ralston Valley. Ms. Gilbreath full heartedly supports academic excellence and is an advocate of CORE knowledge and school choice. A foundation of the reasons her family choose Lincoln Academy. Ms. Gilbreath’s volunteer time has been spent in her children’s classrooms, serving in PTO officer roles, and as a member of two board committees. Prior to her role on the board, she most recently served as PTO President (2018-2021). She has organized and managed several fundraising and social events with her fellow PTO board officers, including the GLOW Run, Grandparents’ Day, and Silent Auction. Her favorite part of serving on the PTO was being able to give back to her children’s education with volunteer time and to appreciate the exemplary staff here at Lincoln Academy. As a board member, Ms. Gilbreath believes the most important stakeholders in a school are the students and teachers. She will value her ability to see a board issue from both sides while making a data driven decision that upholds the mission and values of Lincoln Academy. She was recently elected Board Vice President for a second term and will continue to chair the facilities committee.
Professionally, Ms. Gilbreath is a Senior Engineer and GIS specialist at Neptune, Inc in Lakewood. Ms. Lehr is the parent of a kindergarten and third grader here at Lincoln Academy. In May 2024, she was elected as the vice president of the Board of Directors. Her pursuit of office stemmed from her desire to offer additional support to the amazing Lincoln staff, for whom her family is grateful. She also wanted to give back to the school as education and rigorous academics are top priorities in her home. One focus she hopes to pursue this year, among others, is strategic planning for the long-term needs and wants of Lincoln Academy, which may require more significant funding efforts. Prior to election, she was a member of the facilities committee and could be found volunteering in the classroom most weeks as well as supporting various other activities.
Her background includes a BS and MS in engineering as a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. Before stepping back to spend more time with family, she worked for Lockheed Martin for 14 years specializing in technical projects as well as all aspects of business from strategy to business development to proposals.
