Reading: Students will identify and blend words with the following sounds: D, N, H, and short I. Students will also practice sequencing a story, asking and answering questions, predicting and identifying cause and effect in text. 

Writing: Students will practice the following steps for great writing: topic choice, brainstorm, creating complete and complex sentences.  Complete All About Me writing project.

Math: Students will show what then know and recall about number and counting patterns on Unit 2 test. Students will also begin to practice and understand place value including 10's and 1's. 

Core Knowledge: Students will study and discuss the early stages of civilizations. They will focus on the Ice Age and will learn  the following:

• Ice age nomads and their movement across the land bridge
• Ice age animals and the proof that they existed
• How the nomads became farmers at the end of the Ice Age.
