  • 1/28: Habitat Diorama Project Due

Other Information:  

Students recently completed middle-of-year DIBELS 8 (and Lectura for dual language students). Overall scores are available in Student Insights under the Reading tab. Detailed results will be shared in February

As part of our science unit on organisms and their habitats, students will be creating a habitat diorama.This will be completed mostly at home with your support.

The habitat diorama is due Wednesday, January 28. More details will be sent home with students in their Monday Folders.

Making the Constitution

Students will:

  • Explain why the American colonists fought the British in the American Revolutionary War.
  • Explain the difficulties and challenges that the Americans faced at the end of the American Revolutionary War.
  • Understand that the Constitution was created so that Americans would have a written set of rules describing how the new American government would work
  • Recognize that James Madison is called the Father of the Constitution
  • Explain why many Americans wanted the Constitution to include a bill of rights. 
  • Understand the role of James Madison, John Jay, and Alexander Hamilton in helping Americans understand the Constitution. 
  • Understand that the first ten amendments to the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights.
