3rd Grade Teacher

Welcome to 3rd grade at Lincoln Academy! It is going to be an exciting year of building our classroom community and continuing to grow as learners. I love learning about all of my students and connecting with them in meaningful ways so that each student knows that they are an important part of our class and our culture. I also love letting my students know about me so that they can form those connections as well. So, on that note, let me tell you a bit about myself. I live in Arvada with my husband and son, and our dog Ollie. I moved to Colorado in 2002 from Texas and I try to get back there at least once a year to visit family and get my lake fix. We are big Rockies fans, so expect to hear all about them during baseball season! My hobbies are singing, playing doubles beach volleyball, running, reading, and trying new things. The goal for our 3rd grade classroom is not only to push ourselves academically, but to flourish as good citizens in our class, our school, and our community. I strongly believe that every person (young and not so young) holds so much potential when they truly love to learn. I am a life-long learner and I am always amazed at how we can continue to grow through new experiences and taking the time to stop and strive to understand the wonders that are out there. I am relational by nature and I love getting to know each of my students and connecting with them through their passions. Curiosity is one of my favorite attributes in a person! I can’t wait to get the year started with all of you!

Welcome to third grade!  I hope your family had an adventurous and restful summer.  I am so excited to begin this school year with all of you, and I look forward to an awesome year together!  Let me tell you a little about myself.  I am originally from California, and although the beach is my favorite place to be, I am enjoying exploring the mountains and adventuring through Colorado!  I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a license in Elementary Education.  In my free time I love photography, to play and watch sports, reading, snowboarding, being near water, living an active lifestyle, and most of all, traveling the world! I have lived and taught on 4 different continents, visited 10 countries, and been to more than 19 states!  I have also enjoyed coaching multiple sports for youth locally and abroad.  My passion is teaching!  I believe that every child can learn and have seen on a global scale how fundamental a solid education is. I am motivated and determined to create a safe, fun, and respectful environment where your child can thrive!  I am excited to begin this year together in third grade!  I strongly believe in parents, teachers, and students working together as a team to provide the best education possible for students.  I look forward to doing just that this coming year.  Please feel free to contact me anytime for any purpose, and let’s have a wonderful year!

Hello everyone!

My name is Miss Takata and I am very excited to be a part of Lincoln Academy this year! This will be my third year teaching at Lincoln! I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Applied Child Psychology.

A little bit about myself is that l have a younger brother named Ben and I love watching him play college football at Colorado Mines, therefore I am a HUGE sports fan! Even though I live in Colorado and grew up here in Arvada, I am a big Dodger fan and my favorite sports to watch are baseball, basketball, and football!  During my free time, I love staying active, being outside, and hanging out with my friends and family!

Being a teacher has been my dream since I could remember. I truly believe that each child has the ability to learn. My goal for this year in 3rd grade is to grow your child, not just academically, but as a whole person! I want your child to leave my classroom still wanting to learn and grow their wonderful minds! I genuinely love children and I can’t wait to connect and get to know each and all of you!
