Halley Taylor
Hello Leopards! My name is Halley Taylor (she/her), and I am overjoyed to join Lincoln Academy as a 5th grade English Teacher.
I moved to Arvada in July of 2024, hailing from Omaha, Nebraska. I have been in education for 10 years, teaching English, Journalism and English Language Learners (ELD) and Reading intervention across 7-12 classrooms. I hold a Masters degree in Teaching from College of Saint Marys in Omaha, Nebraska; a Bachelors of Science in Journalism, a Bachelors of Science in Public Relations and a minor in Special Events Planning from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
My professional experience has not always been in Education. I have worked in multiple non-profits including roles at the Central Missouri Humane Society as their Shelter Relations Coordinator, at the Anti-Defamation League as the Education Director for Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas, and as the Executive Director at Omaha Girls Rock. I am passionate about making a positive impact through relationships and I am always eager to find big and small ways to “change the world.” I share this to now say, I KNOW my calling, my passion and my spirit belong in the classroom.
My family and my friends are very important pieces of my heart. I'm a dog-mom to my doghter, Sahsha and an auntie to my 7-year-old nephew, Hudson. I have 4 sisters who I love dearly: Maya, a professional choreographer around the World; Mychal, a manager of a restaurant in Lawrence, Kansas; Cecily, an artist and tattoo artist in New Orleans, and Olive, who is a 5th grader in Omaha! In my free time I love to listen to live music, add to my vinyl collection, dance, find treasures at thrift stores, whip up meals in the kitchen, hike and explore my new community here in Colorado. (Would you mind sharing your local favorites with me?)
I am thrilled to join you at Lincoln Academy and cannot wait to meet you!

Maria Jelinek
My name is Maria Jelinek, and I am excited to be your child's science teacher! This is my third year teaching middle school science here at Lincoln. I have been teaching at Lincoln for 21 years. I began my teaching career here at Lincoln as a fourth grade teacher. I spent 7 years teaching fourth grade and 12 years teaching first grade. I am also a coach for the middle school athletic program. I am a native of Colorado. I love sports, photography, outdoor activities, and am very active. Running and soccer are two of my favorite hobbies, along with being outside enjoying our beautiful state! I graduated from Regis University with a degree focused on education, psychology, special education, and physical education. I also have a masters in educational psychology from University of Northern Colorado.
I love teaching science because of how hands-on students can be with the different principles and concepts we cover. My hope is that students find a love for inquiry and science. Providing a wonderful educational experience while helping each child develop a strong self-worth and reach their highest academic potential is my main goal as a teacher. I strongly believe that in order to provide your child with the best education possible, we need to work as a team. I will do my best to provide a classroom full of respect and success for every student. I am looking forward to meeting you and your child and am ready for a fantastic school year!

Rose Hasz
I am thrilled to be part of the 5th-6th grade program at Lincoln Academy! This will be my 15th year teaching, and my 8th year at Lincoln. I was born and raised in Kentucky, then attended college at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee. After college, I moved to Colorado, and I hope to never leave! I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, playing with my dog, fishing, and just being outdoors. When the weather doesn't cooperate, I can be found reading or watching sports. It is my mission for every student to leave my classroom knowing that they are unique, valuable, and loved. I am so excited to begin another school year!
