This Week's 7th Grade Snapshot
Early Dismissal Notice
Due to the congested nature of our campus at dismissal time, we are now making a
guideline that we will not do early dismissal for students between 2:30-3:00 pm. If your
student has an appointment that you need to get them early from school, please plan on
picking them up before 2:30 pm.
This will allow you to get on and off campus in a safe and timely manner, avoid having to
deal with the stress of a crowded driveline, and create less end-of-day disruptions for our
classes and staff. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Aubrey Titus
My name is Aubrey Titus and I am so excited to be joining the Lincoln Academy team. I have been a teacher for 16 years, and have had the fortune of teaching in schools around the country. I’ve taught in Chicago, Denver, and a small rural town in Vermont. Most recently, I’m coming from Drake Middle School here in Arvada, where I’ve been teaching 6th and 7th grade ELA for the past two years. My son (Jack, 5) will be entering kindergarten here at Lincoln Academy in the fall, and I’m looking forward to both of us being in the same place!
I grew up in Loveland, Colorado, where I first developed my love of education through my summer jobs as a tutor and at a summer camp. I then went to school at the University of Colorado for my BA. After graduating, I moved to Chicago where I did my first three years of teaching and also got my Master of Arts in Teaching. My main goal as a teacher is that students feel included, engaged, and curious. Each year, I strive to make my classroom a warm and welcoming environment for all students.
My hobbies include traveling, baking, tennis, gardening, and of course, reading! I am in two book clubs, and look forward to opening each new book I read. I can’t wait to meet everyone!
Year Long Plan
Science
Amy Parrott
Hello, Lincoln Academy community! My name is Amy Parrott, and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the team as the 7th grade Science teacher! Teaching is my passion, and after spending the last two years as a Science Curriculum Specialist where I had the pleasure of supporting other Science teachers in grades K-12 in developing engaging lessons, I am beyond excited to step back into the classroom and bring Science to life for my students.
This will be my 13th year in education, and I can't wait to spark curiosity and encourage discovery.
Outside of the classroom, I am a wife and mother of two, and we love spending time outdoors. Whether it's hiking, camping, or biking, we are always looking for new adventures and ways to explore nature together.
I am so excited to meet my students, collaborate with families, and become a part of the Lincoln Academy community. Let’s make this next year an amazing year of learning and discovery!
Math
Jenny Lucero
I have worked as a Jeffco math teacher for the last fourteen years and happily found my way to Lincoln two years ago. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at Brigham Young University, followed by a teaching certificate at the University of Colorado, and eventually added an endorsement in middle school mathematics. I’ve heard it said that elementary teachers teach because they love children, high school teachers teach because they love their subjects, and middle school teachers teach because they love both. I consider myself lucky to be part of the LA community where I can simultaneously focus on both kids and math.
I have 4 kids (all grown) who are all four years apart, and we take every possible opportunity to travel together en masse. My favorite place in the entire world is in the wilds of the Sawtooth Mountain Range in central Idaho. During our annual summer trips, we hike, fish, paddleboard, build bonfires, get eaten by mosquitoes, ride dirt bikes, and look forward to hot showers upon our return. It’s my little piece of heaven on earth.
When at home, I enjoy gardening, reading, baking, and walking out of the gym after a workout. I wish I could say I love walking into the gym, but I wouldn’t want to lie.
