Early Dismissal Notice
Due to the congested nature of our campus at dismissal time, we are now making a
guideline that we will not do early dismissal for students between 2:30-3:00 pm. If your
student has an appointment that you need to get them early from school, please plan on
picking them up before 2:30 pm.
This will allow you to get on and off campus in a safe and timely manner, avoid having to
deal with the stress of a crowded driveline, and create less end-of-day disruptions for our
classes and staff. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Pamona High School
Do you know a student who is passionate about the arts? Would they benefit from an arts-integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum that is artistically and academically rigorous, fosters critical thinking and encourages energetic collaboration with their peers? Pomona Arts and Humanities (PAH), a special program within Pomona High School in Arvada, CO, is currently auditioning students who would thrive in such an environment. PAH fires students’ passion for learning by engaging the creative talents of young artists, while encouraging their critical and creative thinking, all in a diverse and positive environment. PAH exists to inspire and support high school students as they develop a lifelong love for both the arts and for learning. We currently offer the following fine arts focus areas: 2D & 3D visual arts, vocal and instrumental music, theater, culinary arts, and language composition. Though Pomona is now a 6-12 campus (Yay!), the PAH program spans grades 9-12 only. Therefore, PAH auditions are only open to current 8th-11th graders.
We would love to have you audition for our program! Auditions for PAH will be held on Monday, December 9th, 4:00-6:00 PM at the Pomona High School library. For more information about the audition process and program requirements, please visit our website. Click on the “Sign Up For An Audition” tab to reserve an audition time. We would love to have you be a part of the PAH community!

ELA
Easton De Jong
I am excited to begin my second year in the teaching profession and my first year as the 8th grade English language arts teacher at Lincoln Academy! I have heard wonderful things about the Lincoln community and I am very glad to now be a part of it myself.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education in 2023 from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a younger person myself, I hope to enthusiastically instill the love and appreciation of literature and writing into my students.
I have lived in Colorado for the past year, during which time I have enjoyed all the hiking and the dogs! In my free time, I can usually be found reading fantasy novels, overanalyzing movies, spending time with my fiancée and friends, or playing some type of game (board, video, card, yard, or sport). As of now, I am proud to hold the official title of “Pickleball King” at Lincoln!

Math - Mrs. Lucero
This week in Math
Jenny Lucero
I have worked as a Jeffco math teacher for the last thirteen years, and happily found my way to Lincoln one year ago. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at Brigham Young University, followed by a teaching certificate at the University of Colorado, and eventually added an endorsement in middle school mathematics. I’ve heard it said that elementary teachers teach because they love children, high school teachers teach because they love their subjects, and middle school teachers teach because they love both. I consider myself lucky to be part of the LA community where I can simultaneously focus on both kids and math.
I have 4 kids (all grown) who are all four years apart, and we take every possible opportunity to travel together en masse. My favorite place in the entire world is in the wilds of the Sawtooth Mountain Range in central Idaho. During our annual summer trips, we hike, fish, paddleboard, build bonfires, get eaten by mosquitoes, ride dirt bikes, and look forward to hot showers upon our return. It’s my little piece of heaven on earth.
When at home, I enjoy gardening, reading, baking, and walking out of the gym after a workout. I wish I could say I love walking into the gym, but I wouldn’t want to lie.

Asami Nash
I am very excited about teaching middle school math again at this wonderful Lincoln Academy. I love how supportive and kind the community at Lincoln.
I was born and grew up in Japan. I moved to the United States to go to college. I graduated from Western Wyoming Community College with AA and AS in 1999, and from University of Utah with BS in Secondary Math Education Major and Psychology minor in 2002. I taught in Wymoning for 4 years till I had my son. Since my son started Lincoln Academy as a first grader, I have been volunteering in classrooms and I fell in love with Lincoln Academy. I have also been teaching Japanese language as a heritage language for the last 10 years on Saturdays.
I love doing puzzles, sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking, and gardening (but I do not like bugs). I enjoy spending time with my family and pet, such as camping and visiting new places. One of these days I would love to go to Australia to hug a koala!
I cannot wait to have a lot of math talks with students this year!
