In reading this week, we are:

Writing:

In writing this week, we are continuing learning how to write letters. We will be practicing our letter writing skills by writing letters thanking our buddies for the drive-in movie.

Math:

In math this week, we are beginning our unit on comparing measurable attributes. We will be learning about height, weight, and length as well as how to compare and contrast those three attributes among similar objects.

Family Letter Unit 14

Core Knowledge:

In Core Knowledge this week, we are continuing to learn about conservation and how to help the Earth. We are so excited to design and build new objects and contraptions out of recycled materials! We will also get to learn the story of The Lorax.

Social-Emotional Learning:

We have finished our Second Step curriculum. Throughout the rest of the year, we will continue reviewing the various lessons we have learned about growth mindset, kindness, emotions, and problem-solving.

We are also using the four steps to repair harm when we intentionally or unintentionally harm someone. The four steps are: 1) I am sorry for… 2) It probably made you feel … 3) Next time I will … 4) How can I make it better?
