In the tech lab, students engage in essential 21st-century skills, including digital citizenship, typing, basic computer knowledge, and introductory programming. Learning to type is a lifelong skill that supports effective communication, while understanding online safety is crucial as students increasingly learn, work, and interact in digital spaces. They must also develop the ability to evaluate online information.

 

 

Headphone Policy:

Students are required to keep a pair of headphones in the tech lab for regular use.  If a student's headphones stop working during the year, they should be taken home for prompt replacement. Loaner headphones are available in the classroom if needed. For families who may require assistance in providing headphones, please reach out to Miss Kil to arrange a long-term loaner option.

Please note that headphones are not sent home over the summer or during school breaks. If you are leaving Lincoln Academy, please inform Miss Kil as soon as possible so the headphones can be returned. If you need to take your headphones home over a break, please contact Miss Kil at emily.kil@jeffco.k12.co.us , and the headphones will be sent home with the student. Please ensure that the headphones are brought back to school.

*Headphones should be wired and fit a 3.5 millimeter, standard, headphone jack. Wired earbuds are acceptable if your child is comfortable using earbuds. 

 

Volunteer Opportunities-

Kindergarten-Second Grade parents are welcome to sign up for volunteer opportunities in the tech lab.  Volunteers assist with classroom materials and support students with their learning.  Email Miss Kil at emily.kil@jeffco.k12.co.us.
