Christy Goodman (Art ) graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL in 1998 with a degree in Fine Arts. After 5 years teaching in private schools in St. Louis, Christy moved to Colorado to complete a Master's Degree in Education from Regis University in 2008. The 2019-2020 school year will be Christy's 14th year at Lincoln Academy. In her free time, Christy enjoys painting, drawing, illustration & baking fancy treats.Lizzy Horn (Art and Music ) is an alumna of Lincoln Academy who graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in May of 2014. She student taught in a small city school in the Kentucky Appalachian Mountains, and was lucky enough to teach art to kids from 1st to 12th grade. Lizzy now lives in Colorado and spent her first year out of school substitute teaching for all ages and subjects around Jeffco. She has been teaching art and music at Lincoln since 2015. Lizzy is also a retired college swimmer, a swim coach, an avid reader, and enjoys any kind of new art techniques she can get her hands on.Emily Kil (Technology K-4) is starting her first year at Linconm Academy. She’s taught elementary school for 15 years in North Carolina, Connecticut and Colorado. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Technology at the University of Connecticut and is excited about starting her new position as the K-4 Technology teacher at Lincoln Academy. Emily is an avid horseback rider and is actively involved with a local horse rescue and pony club.
Chris Martin (Physical Education ) is extremely excited to begin his 6th year as physical education teacher at Lincoln Academy Charter School. Mr. Martin received his bachelor’s degree and teacher licensure from Metropolitan State University of Denver. His degree is in K-12 physical education. Mr. Martin is also the athletic director at Lincoln Academy. Mr. Martin resides with his family in Erie. He has two daughters, Alexandria, 13, and Taylor, who is 11.Kim McKinney (Library) is happy to be returning for her 16th year in the library. She was a parent at Lincoln for 12 years. Previously in Jefferson County she taught Elementary School, Reading, and was a substitute. Kim is the mother to two boys, both at CSU. She is also the "mother" to Blue the dog and Dewey and Penelope the cats. Kim is married to Jeff. In her free time she enjoys reading, walking, the mountains and hanging out with her family.Debbie McNutt ( Technology 5-6) received her bachelor’s degree in Business Computer Systems from New Mexico State University in 1987 and worked for IBM Corporation for 11 years. She received her Masters in Secondary Education at the University of Denver in 1997. Mrs. McNutt came to Lincoln with 4 years of experience teaching high school in the Thornton area teaching digital media and math. The 2019-20 school year will be Mrs. McNutt’s tenth year at Lincoln Academy and she is excited to continue her focus on elementary keyboarding and technology skills. Mrs. McNutt loves to spend her free time with her husband and three children, as well as running, photography, scrapbooking, and watching movies.Henry Prescott III (Physical Education) is excited for his 3rd year at Lincoln Academy! Mr. Prescott earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Colorado (2009) and continued his education earning a Bacholors of Science in Human Performance and Sport from Metropolitan State University of Denver (2016). Mr. Prescott loves being physically active and enjoys a multitude of sports including golf, tennis, basketball, ping pong and volleyball. He also is an avid bike rider and in 2015 he cycled 3,400 miles across the United States, raising money and awareness for Parkinson's disease. In addition to enjoying sports and recreation, Mr. Prescott is also an avid traveller having visited ten countries and understands travel is an essential learning experience.Karen Ullman (Music) is beginning her 17th year of teaching here at Lincoln Academy. Mrs. Ullman studied music at the University of Northern Colorado and earned her teaching certificate at Metropolitan State College in Denver. In addition, she has taught piano privately for 25 years. Mrs. Ullman has had a lifelong love of music, particularly jazz and improvisation. In addition to playing piano, she sings, plays flute, clarinet, guitar, and is currently studying violin. She is married and has three boys who are all grown. On the rare occasion that she has spare time, she enjoys hanging out with the family, watching baseball, doing needlework, gardening and skiing.Specials EAJeanne Murchison (Art, Music, PE, Technology)
