Schedule & Expectations

  •  Welcome to Remote Learning!

    Expectations: 

    • Assignments will be posted daily on the remote learning webpage & in the Homeroom Teacher's Google Classroom by 8:30 a.m. 
    • Students should be actively engaged in learning for approximately 3 hours a day. This includes specials. 
    • Students should take brain breaks often throughout the day
    • Email your child's teacher with any questions as they arise 
    • All assignments must be completed and turned in by the following Monday  
    • If your child cannot complete the daily activities, please let your teacher know as soon as possible 

    Approximate time frame

    This schedule is a SUGGESTION on a typical remote learning day. You may choose to do subjects in whatever order you would like, or whatever time you like throughout the day. All assignments need to be completed by 9 p.m.

    Class assignments for the day:

    Tuesday, March 31st

    Open Court:

    •      View Vocabulary powerpoint (and vocabulary worksheet page 47 and 48 if it's helpful)
    •      Answer the questions on the Google Doc in Google Classroom 

    Frost & Kruger Math: Practice Facts! 

      • Practice mixed multiplication facts for 5 minutes; some ideas are: Multiplication .com, making flashcards, having a parent or sibling quiz you, skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, ... to 12s. or using sidewalk chalk (be creative)
      • View the video on the new concept by our own Miss Kruger via youtube: Multiplying Three Numbers Make sure your book is open to 417 and you have paper and pencil ready)
      • View the multiplying three numbers worksheet in Google Classroom
      • Complete thes Google Doc in Google Classroom

    Math Leasure:

    • Join us for our zoom meeting at 1pm or view the video on Google classroom.  Be sure to have your math book, math notebook, a white board or white paper and a pencil ready!
    • Do lesson 56: even numbers on scratch paper
    • Enter the answers into the document on Google docs

     Writing 

    • Write a thank you letter to a healthcare professional in Google Classroom 

    Wednesday 4/1

    Reading Open Court: 

    • Read half of Amazing Animals in Open Court Textbook pg. 72-75
    • Watch the video on suffixes
    • View Suffix -ness and -er worksheet pages 43 & 44 on Google Classroom
    • Answer questions on Google Doc in Google Classroom 

    Math Kruger & Frost: 

    • Practice mixed multiplication facts for 5 minutes. Some ideas are https://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games, make flash cards, ask a parent/sibling to quiz you, skip count by 2s,3s,4s,5s….up to 12, use chalk (be creative!)
    • Lesson 77 - Look at the written practice problems on page 418-420. Complete questions: 2,6,8,10,12,14,15,16,19,20  Write your answers on the Google Doc in your math Google Classroom.

    Leasure Math:

    • Practice mixed multiplication facts for 10 minutes. Some ideas are https://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games, make flash cards, ask a parent/sibling to quiz you, skip count by 2s,3s,4s,5s….up to 12, use chalk (be creative!)
    • Do lesson 56:  odd numbers on a scratch piece of paper
    • Enter the answers into the document on Google docs

    History (13 Colonies!) & Writing: 

    • Complete the Know and Want to Know sections on the KWL chart in Google Classroom
    • Watch brain pop about 13 colonies: username & password will be on the assignment in Google classroom
    • Complete the Learn section on KWL chart after watching the brain pop 

     

    Thursday, April 2nd (4/2)

    Reading Open Court: 

    • Read second half of Amazing Animals in Open Court Textbook pg. 76-81
    • Practice spelling words - some choices might be spelling city, write your words with chalk, use play dough, or toss the ball and spell your words.
    • Fill out the Google doc saying how you practiced your words

    Math Kruger & Frost Lesson 78 Multiplying Multiples of Ten: 

    -Join us for a Zoom meeting at 3:00p.m. Be sure to have a paper and pencil handy!

    -Practice mixed multiplication facts for 5 minutes. Some ideas are https://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games, make flash cards, ask a parent/sibling to quiz you, skip count by 2s,3s,4s,5s….up to 12, use chalk (be creative!)

    -Watch Lesson 78 Video on Youtube 

    -View the Multiplying Multiples of 10 in Math Google Classroom

    -Write your answers in the Google Doc in Google Classroom

    Math Leasure:

    • Join us for our zoom meeting at 11am.   Be sure to have your math book, a white board or white paper and a pencil ready!
    • Do lesson 57: even numbers on scratch paper
    • Enter the answers into the document on Google docs

    Writing: 

    • Complete analyzing the selection assignment in Google Classroom

     

    History (13 Colonies):

    • Read through colonial occupation slide show on Google Classroom
    • Pick a colonial occupation 
    • On a sheet of paper make a sign for your occupation! (see slide 5 of colonial occupation slide show for more information)
    • Complete the Google doc telling me which occupation you chose 
    • Keep your sign because we will share them on our Zoom call Friday! 

    Friday, April 3rd (4/3)

    Reading Open Court: 

    • Re-read the Story Amazing Animals in Open Court Textbook pg. 72-81
    • View Vocab & Comprehension Worksheets pages 27-29 on the Youtube Video
    • Answer questions on Google Doc in Google Classroom

     

    Math: Kruger & Frost 

    Lesson 78

    -Look at the written practice problems on page 423-424. Complete questions: 1,2,4,6,7,11,12,15,16  Write your answers on the Google Doc in your math Google Classroom.

    Math Leasure:

    - Do IXL:  Diagnostic for 15 minutes

    - Do IXL: Recommendations for 20 min.

    Writing: 

    --Write about what your daily life will look like as your occupation in Google Classroom

     

    Be sure to click the TURN IN button after you complete your assignment on Google Classroom.

    Third grade will be having Zoom meetings at the same time. Teachers will communicate meeting numbers to their students. Listed below is the Third Grade's Homeroom Zoom Meeting schedule:

    Tuesday: 9:00 am

    Wednesday: 2:00 pm

    Thursday: 6:30 pm

    Friday: 9:00am

     

    Also, please make sure your child is checking their gmail daily. Teachers & DSS will use gmail to communicate directly with students.
