Half Day Kindergarten

My name is Amy Jenkins.  I grew up in Southern California, and moved to Colorado to attend Colorado Christian University.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's degree from Colorado State University-Global in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in English Language Learners.  I met my husband, Scott in college and we have been married for 24 years.  We have 2 daughters who both attended Lincoln Academy from Kindergarten through Middle School.  Karis is a sophomore at Wheatridge High School now.  Kiah graduated in May and is headed to college.  Lincoln has been an important part of my life, as a parent, a substitute teacher, an educational assistant, and a teacher.  This is my 5th year teaching AM Kindergarten.  The community at Lincoln is the main reason I am here.  It is a privilege to be a part of this amazing team of educators and families.

Our Kindergarten classroom will be a rich, positive learning space, where students will feel cared for and respected.  I'm looking forward to an exciting year full of new knowledge, new friends, and new adventures.

Full Day Kindergarten

I would like to welcome you to kindergarten at Lincoln Academy!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Arvada, CO. Upon graduation from high school, I found an amazing college in Phoenix: Grand Canyon University. I spent four years absorbing as much information as I could before returning to Colorado to do my student teaching in Adams District 50. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in April 2015 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my 6th year at Lincoln as a teacher, 5 years in kindergarten and 1 year in first grade. Also, I was a student here from 2002-2004 for 4th and 5th grade. It has been wonderful to get to experience Lincoln Academy from a student’s and teacher’s perspective. As we enter the school year, I want you to know that I am excited to partner with you. I find it to be extremely important to have your participation in your child’s education every step of the way. I strive to provide a positive, fun, energetic, and academically rigorous environment for your child. My goal is to create a classroom community that works together to support all learners as students will work to reach his/ her fullest potential. I set high expectations for myself and my students to encourage each person to do their best and bring out the best in others. I look forward to a fun year in Kindergarten!

Full Day Kindergarten

Hello! My name is Jennifer Roberts and I am SUPER excited to be back in full day kindergarten this year. I grew up in New York and graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA with a B.A. in Mathematics. I completed my teaching licensure at Regis University and my Masters in Literacy Instruction at the University of Colorado, Denver. My husband and I have called Colorado home for 25 years. We have two boys who both attended Lincoln from kindergarten through 8th grade. Obi is a junior at the University of Evansville in Indiana and Jack is a first-year at Columbia University in NYC. I taught in Denver Public Schools before having children and I have been a part of the Lincoln staff since Jack was in Lincoln’s PreK program. I was a literacy small group teacher for two years and then taught half-day and full day kindergarten. I spent last year teaching and learning in PreK, and as much as I enjoyed it, kindergarten is my home away from home.  My classroom community is grounded in high expectations, kindness, joy, love of learning, and lots of movement!  Education of children is a joint effort between teachers and parents which is why I look forward to working with all my families to help my students achieve great things.

“Learning should be a joy and full of excitement.  It is life’s greatest adventure; it is an illustrated excursion into the minds of the noble and the learned.” ~ Taylor Caldwell
