    -Read Chapter 2 in table groups- table talk about the Big Question “In what ways was Athenian democracy limited?”

    English: "One Small Step", practicing annotating key idea and supporting details, continue rough draft

    Social Studies: Students will use maps, Core books, and video to infer what Mayan societies may have looked like.

     Video: Intro. to Mesoamericans

     Compare maps:  Today vs. Mesoamerican times

     Read Ch. 1 “Maya: The Rainforest Civilization”.

     Set up notebooks for this unit, begin note catcher.

    Students will compare and contrast Athens and Sparta after reading chapter 3 in their Core books.

     Students will read chapter 3, then use their books to look back at chapters 2 and 3 to complete a compare/contrast sheet with their table.

    Social Studies:Students will use chrome books and Core books to research an aspect of society (Architecture, Religion, Inventions, Language, etc.) in Mayan, Incan, and Aztec cultures.  Students will compare/contrast between the three civilizations and create a slideshow in google classroom to share with the class.

    Social Studies: Students will learn about the ancient Olympic games (Chapter 4), through Core books and videos.  Students will compare ancient games with the Olympics of today.

     Read Chapter 4 “Olympics” in Core books. Students will answer the big question in notebooks: “What were the Olympic Games like?”
