Welcome to 6th grade, I am thrilled to have you in my class this year! This will be my 5th year teaching science and my 4th year teaching at Lincoln Academy. I am proud to say that I am a Colorado native and attended Holy Family High School in Broomfield.

I graduated in 2013, from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, where I also played softball on a four-year scholarship. I recently earned a Master’s degree in education from Regis University. In my free time, I enjoy camping, fly fishing, snowboarding, and kayaking.

I am very passionate about exploring the outdoors and the wonders of science and I am excited to share my passion for science with my students!

Dear Sixth Grade Families,

I would like to welcome you to Lincoln Academy and room 123! My name is Julie Pollack and I am honored to be your child’s sixth-grade teacher. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family, and to begin this exciting year together.

Let me tell you about myself. I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder where I received my degree in Psychology and completed the Elementary Education Licensure program. I am graduated from CU Denver with my Master in Literacy. Through my Masters, I discovered my true passion for teaching literacy, which is what brought my change from first grade to sixth.

I have high expectations for my students and myself. To have a successful learning environment I will stress the importance of cooperative learning and building a strong classroom community. Students will be expected to have good study skills, listening skills, and responsible and respectful behaviors. I look forward to meeting you and your sixth grader. I consider teaching your child a privilege and I am thrilled to begin this journey together!

Best,

Julie Pollack

I am very excited about this school year and getting to know each 6th-grade student!

I am a Colorado native. For most of my elementary years, I lived in Arvada, Colorado. I attended Peck Elementary and Arvada Senior High School. I received my Associate's degree in Elementary Education from RRCC, then graduated from Metro State University in 2014 majoring in Behavioral Science with a minor in Elementary Education. I previously taught 4th and 5th grade in Commerce City and substitute taught K-12th in Bailey.

I enjoy spending time outside, fishing, hiking, gardening or camping with my daughter and husband. When not outside I can be found snuggled in a blanket, reading a book with a giant cup of coffee.

I am looking forward to my first year at Lincoln Academy. In my classroom, it is essential that it feels like a community where every student feels accepted, respected, understood, and appreciated. I believe this environment is where children learn best. I hold students to high standards, but I will also make sure to have proper supports in place for them to obtain them.
